N.E.R.D avenged with Seeing Sounds

When N.E.R.D announced their disbandment in '05, instead of a public outcry, came a resounding sigh of relief. With the less than mediocre performance on Fly or Die leaving even the most avid listeners disenchanted, the dismissal of Pharrel's pet project seemed like the best decision ever made. Fast forward to present day; N.E.R.D. drops single "Everyone Nose" and its a hit, prompting the ladies powdering their noses (pun intended) to bolt to the dance floor ...but wait, what does the rest of the album sound like? Well, its not half bad. Seeing Sounds stays true to N.E.R.D. with catchy guitar riffs, and clever production on tracks like "Anti-Matter" and "Spazz", but delves into a more progressive sound with the addition of elements reminiscent of brit jungle, funk and drum & bass (Check out "Killjoy" and "Love Bomb"). Although it doesn't come close to In Search of... it allows us forget about the sophomore failure. The verdict? Faith in N.E.R.D. is restored... now wipe your nose off!
